Xerox AltaLink C8055 Driver:

The Xerox AltaLink C8055 is a color multifunction printer suitable for small- to medium-sized businesses. It supports various print tasks and also allows IT personnel to remotely manage it and monitor device status.

It comes with ConnectKey Apps, a set of integrated apps that help users scan and save digitized documents to cloud storage. This way, they can easily access and retrieve them whenever they need them.

1. Installation of Xerox AltaLink C8055 Driver:

The Xerox AltaLink C8055 is a high-performance color multifunction printer that provides new levels of performance and connectivity for your office or workgroup. It delivers high-resolution output with a maximum print speed of 35 ppm and supports various operating systems, including Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.

The free Xerox Global Print Driver manages Xerox and non-Xerox printers across the enterprise with a single easy-to-use interface. It dramatically simplifies enterprise printer management for IT managers and reduces support costs by eliminating the need to install, upgrade or maintain individual drivers for each device.

Download the rpm file if you are using RedHat and clones, or the deb file if you are using Ubuntu. Follow the installation instructions to install the drivers on your computer.

2. Setup:

The Electrical and Computer Engineering department has a number of Xerox printers that are leased through the University. These printers require a special driver for Linux. You can download this from the Xerox driver download page. Choose either the rpm file if you are running RedHat and clones or the deb file for Ubuntu.

After downloading the Xerox driver you can open System Preferences and go to Print & Scan. Select the + button towards the bottom left part of the window.

Click on Xerox AltaLink C8055 and you should get a window like the one below. Make sure the ‘Do not share this printer’ box is checked and that a queue name is entered. You can also choose to set this as your default printer by checking the box next to ‘Make this my default printer’.

3. Configuration:

The Xerox AltaLink C8055 Driver includes our new embedded web server, which allows you to monitor status and consumables, manage security settings and configure the device for your specific environment. This eliminates the need for a separate server and simplifies setup and support.

Click the download button that corresponds with your operating system version to download the Xerox print driver and create a new print queue on your PC. If you are using a Mac, skip this step.

4. Networking:

The Xerox C8055 printer is network ready with both USB and Ethernet connectivity. Using the printer over a network is more efficient and allows you to print documents from any computer on the network. The printer also supports printing from mobile devices via the Xerox Print App.

5. Troubleshooting:

Download the Xerox Global print driver for your operating system from the Xerox website. Choose rpm if you are running RedHat and deb for Ubuntu. After downloading the driver install it as described in the Xerox documentation. Then add the Xerox printer to the list of available devices in Coda.
