Canon MP190 Printer Driver

Canon MP190 Printer Driver

Canon MP190 Printer Driver is an inkjet multifunctional printer that also serves as a scanner and copier, offering great value for your money.

This all-in-one utilizes two cartridges – a pigment black and dye-based tricolor – with good print quality, though not quite as sharp and accurate as some of the other all-in-ones PC Pro has tested.

Printing

PC Pro may not have reviewed as many Canon all-in-ones as large as the MP190, but its simplicity and low price make it worth its while. As soon as you install its two cartridges (one black and one tri-color), printing starts almost instantly; and copying documents and photos without connecting to a computer are also capabilities. Unfortunately, its print speed of 19ppm for mono prints and 15ppm for color prints falls below some other all-in-ones but that still makes it reasonable enough.

Print quality was impressive for such an affordable device. On plain paper, black text was sharp and dense while photos came out clear and vibrantly hued. When using its high-yield cartridges, black page costs came to 4.13p per page while 8.75p was enough per color page – an incredible value when considering all-in-ones cost significantly more!

The Canon MP190 utilizes next-generation PIGMENT ink technology with Full Photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) to print at 4800×1200 color dpi resolution with exceptional smooth, virtually grain-free images. Its smaller nozzles help achieve this higher print resolution. My Image Garden software included with its Canon Pixma MP190 Printer Driver facilitates the organization and printing of photos as well as calendars, stickers, and CD-ROM labels.

Copying

The MP190’s copying performance was excellent. It can scan at high resolution, producing copies that are both accurate and detailed – reduced grain in photos and sharp, thick text in documents are produced. Furthermore, multiple pages could be processed at once with a speedy copying time of less than one minute at the fastest setting for black-and-white A4 documents and two minutes or so for color ones.

Printing can be slow. On our test, it printed black-and-white documents at 19 pages per minute (ppm) and 15 ppm for color documents. Photo printing took slightly longer than average – around 70 seconds was needed to print a 4x 6-inch photo at maximum quality setting.

As with other Canon printers, ink cartridges can quickly add up, increasing operating costs quickly. But remember that the Canon MP190 is a multifunctional device – scanner, copier, and fax machine all in one – meaning it saves money in purchasing separate pieces of equipment for each task. Furthermore, to take full advantage of all its advanced features available this model requires installing the appropriate driver for your operating system – otherwise, your printer might not function correctly!

Scanner

The scanner is a basic flatbed equipped with one flip-over support that can accommodate A4 pages, supported by a rear paper tray capable of holding 100 sheets. Rather than the more expensive Charge Coupled Device (CCD) technology used by higher-end machines, the ScanSnap uses a Contact Image Sensor (CIS), with only an informational nine-segment green LED display providing status reports; no memory card slots or memory card slots provided; instead it is possible to print directly from PictBridge cameras via its USB port.

Scanning is effortless with no separate driver installation required – its Auto Scan mode instantly recognizes documents and automatically crops and saves the file based on its type. Manual settings also enable document scans in black-and-white or color for added customization, as well as copy mode which allows multiple copies from a single original document to be made simultaneously.

The MP190’s printing performance falls a bit short when compared with similar all-in-ones. A black-and-white text page printed in 12 seconds while mixed documents took over twice as long at 35 seconds. Switching over to photo mode produced an A4 borderless photo within 2 minutes and 37 seconds with reasonable quality results.

Fax

Faxing with a Canon printer is straightforward, as most models feature both sending and receiving capabilities. Just follow the instructions in your Canon printer manual to connect it to the fax line and configure any required settings. Alternatively, use an eFax account compatible with Canon printers to send and receive documents remotely – whether from your computer, smartphone, or tablet device.

If you are having issues with one aspect of your Canon printer, try restarting and updating its software first. If that doesn’t solve it, replace its ink cartridge or reach out for assistance from technical support.

The Canon MP190 printer produces professional-quality documents at up to 4800 x 1200 color dpi resolution, producing stunning images with amazing vibrancy and fine details. Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE), used during the printing process, produces ink droplets as small as two picoliters for smoother and more lifelike images.

To fax with your Canon printer, prepare the page(s) and place them in either the scanner or fax feeder. Next, access your Canon printer’s interface or control panel and select its fax option – following any prompts until completion. Incoming faxes may either be printed out or stored depending on model and settings preferences.
